Heledd Bianchi is a bilingual Welsh actress, voice artist, singer, writer and composer who has been working in theatre, arts and the television industry for over 20 years. She is an eclectic performer who thrives on delivering performances through music, movement, poetry and storytelling.

She graduated from Trinity, St David’s University, Carmarthen in 2000 with a BA Honours in Theatre Studies and went straight on to play the lead in a bilingual TIE tour of Garden Girls with the Arad Goch Theatre Company.

In 2001, she flew to Ibiza to work as a children’s entertainer and compere at Fiesta Resorts Cala Nova by day, and as a featured stage dancer in Lucifer and Amnesia Nightclubs by night.

Between 2002 and 2014, she proudly worked as Artistic Director, Actress and Co-writer for Theatr Bwcibo, a bilingual theatre company formed by her and her mother, Diana Bianchi, producing predominantly one-woman shows. Credits include The One Road, Yr Un Cam, Catrin Glyndwr (Welsh and English adaptation), Night Chronicles, Bei-Ling Burlesque, Living The Past, Do You Remember?, Ifor Ap Meurig Y Dyn Dewr, Dwynwen Dylwythen Y Don A’r Corachod Bach Ffyddlon Y Tir and Ffararararaldiri. Shows ranged vastly from Elizabethan to musical theatre, poetry, music and dance being prominent at the heart of Heledd Bianchi’s creations.

In 2004, she was delighted when the Oscar-nominated actor, Huw Garmon, decided to direct and co-write Catrin Glyndwr – a one-woman show about Owain Glyndwr’s daughter, who was incarcerated in the Tower of London with her three children. The English adaptation of the performance toured the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Arundel Fringe Festival in 2005.

Between 2004 and 2013, Heledd co-wrote, directed and performed in many bilingual theatre interpretations with Chance Encounters Heritage Theatre Company. She particularly enjoyed playing the lead roles of Mary Christmas and Sian Corn in Father Christmas And Friends and Sion Corn A’u Ffrindie, staged at the Oakdale Workmen’s Institute, National Museum Of Wales, St Fagan in 2013.

Heledd’s television credits include the popular Welsh Language Soap Pobol Y Cwm and popular Welsh Language Drama Series Teulu and Parch.

She has recently been working as a writer/composer/voice artist on a musical theatre collaboration with Leeway Productions, facilitated by the Director and Creator, Angharad Lee. She looks forward to further collaborative opportunities with Leeway Productions, whether it be as writer, composer or performer.

At present Heledd is preparing a one-woman bilingual community musical theatre show – Trywydd – helping to raise awareness of mental health, a cause very close to her heart. The show will be touring from May 2017 onwards.
